We clear clogged drains and main lines, and we cut tree roots out of the pipe. A camera inspection then shows what caused the clog.

Your water line is the buried pipe that feeds the house from the street or from a private well. When it leaks or breaks, the first signs often show up in the yard. For water line repair, South County Septic and Excavation Services finds the trouble spot and digs to it. Then we repair the break or replace the line.
Water line installation is the other half of the work. We lay new water service lines for new homes and commercial properties, on town water or on a private well. On a raw lot, the water line trench can go in with the rest of the site work. Call or text (401) 474-8926 to talk about your line.
Tell us about the septic, sewer, drainage or excavation job and where the property is. We look at the job and put the quote in writing.
A leak in a buried water line often shows up outside first. Look for a soft, soggy strip over the line, or a spot that stays wet in dry weather. Inside the house, you may notice low water pressure or a water bill that climbs with no change in use.
Some wet spots are groundwater or runoff instead of a leak, and a drainage system is the fix for those. A wet spot that smells of sewage points to the sewer line or the septic system instead. We find the leak before we dig, so the trench opens in the right spot.
Like most excavation work, the dig starts with a Dig Safe notice at least 72 hours ahead. Under Rhode Island law, weekends and holidays do not count toward those 72 hours. Dig Safe's member utilities mark their own lines, and we locate the private side of your water line.
A single break in pipe that is otherwise in good shape can often be cut out and repaired. A line that keeps leaking, or one that froze because it sits too shallow, is a candidate for replacement. North Kingstown's water plan reports leaks in copper service lines where the soil is corrosive.
A full replacement runs new pipe from the curb stop, or from the well, to the house. The curb stop is the shutoff valve near the property line. At older homes it can hide under shrubs or pavement, and North Kingstown's water department will find it on request.
A new water line has to sit below the frost line. The state's building code for homes puts the frost line at 40 inches in every town but Block Island. The plumbing rules set a water service line at least 6 inches below that. Your water supplier may ask for more cover, and we dig to the deeper rule.
State septic rules keep a water line 25 feet from a leach field and 10 feet from a septic tank. A water line may cross the sewer pipe to the tank if one of the pipes is sleeved. We also handle septic system design, so on a new lot the water line and septic get planned together. A new hookup to town water starts with your water supplier.

Call or text (401) 474-8926 and tell us the town and the job. Photos of the problem or the lot help.
We come out to see the site and how a machine gets in. On a problem call, we look for the cause first.
The quote comes to you in writing, with the work spelled out. A septic design goes to the state for approval before the install.
After a Dig Safe (811) call, the utilities mark their buried lines before any machine digs. Then we do the work the quote describes.
Where we dug, we backfill and grade, and we tell you what we did. A new septic system goes into use once the state issues its Certificate of Conformance.

South County Septic did an excellent job replacing our old septic system and leach-field. Michael surveyed the property, designed a new system, installed and worked with the RI DEM with no issues. I highly recommend this business.
Michael was great! Picked up right away and was able to come within the hour to evaluate. Immediately got into motion additional resources we might need to come that day and solved the problem. Very informative and great to work with. Highly recommend.
Was referred out to Michael after an emergency waterline break that flooded our basement. He was there every step of the way and answered all the questions we had. Michael let us know what was happening during the process and could not have been happier with the outcome. Great price and great customer service! Highly recommend if anyone is in need of their services
